Dr. Bret L. Fisher

Bret L. Fisher, MD

Bret L. Fisher, M.D. graduated from Duke University in 1982 and Duke University School of Medicine in 1986, with honors.  Performing his internship in General Medicine at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Dr. Fisher went on to complete his residency in Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia.  While working at Wills, Dr. Fisher took part in authoring the first edition of the Wills Eye Manual, a top-selling book in the field of ophthalmology. In 1993, Dr. Fisher joined the Newberry Eye Clinic in Panama City, Florida as the Medical Director and Attending Surgeon. When Newberry merged with two other practices, becoming Eye Center of North Florida, Dr. Fisher was named Medical Director and held that position until coming to Wells Vision Center.  

Dr. Fisher has also been a part of numerous studies and clinical trials looking to improve and create new intraocular lens implants.  He also took part in pharmaceutical trials for post-cataract inflammation, dry eye, and diabetic eye disease.  Dr. Fisher travels far and wide, giving lectures on advances in cataract surgery and another topic in the field of ophthalmology.  

When not giving lectures or working in the clinic, Dr. Fisher loves to spend time with his wife, Katie and their three children on his farm.
